John Galliano FW 2006 tie dye multicolour evening gown

Rare John Galliano blue, red and purple dégradé tie-dye style bustier maxi chiffon evening gown from circa the Fall Winter 2006 collection. Based on similar pieces presented for the John Galliano and Christian Dior runways that year.

Details : This is a strapless silk chiffon flowing floor-length gown, with deep purple, wine red, and dark plum tones blended in a painterly, almost watercolor-like pattern. The bodice is strapless and softly structured with an internal bustier, with draping falling on the front. At the center front, there’s a twisted or gathered knot detail, from which fabric cascades downward. This detail draws the eye vertically and helps shape the torso. From the waist and hips, the gown falls into a long, flowing skirt that moves easily, with subtle gathers adding volume without bulk. It has the classic Galliano covered button closures, as well as hook closures on the back.
